DESCRIPTION:8\,9\,10th July 2024 – 8.30am to 3.00pm \n\n\n\nFor Children 7-17yrs \n\n\n\nThe four day course will include: \n\n\n\n\nSafety\n\n\n\nWind and tide considerations\n\n\n\nBoat and Sail handling\n\n\n\nCapsize Drill\n\n\n\nUpwind and Downwind Sailing\n\n\n\nTacking and Gybing\n\n\n\n\nThe aim of this introductory course is for all participants to be able to steer (and crew) a sailing dinghy on all points of sailing in light to moderate conditions in sheltered waters. \n\n\n\nParticipants should be reasonably fit and be able to swim at least 25 metres. \n\n\n\nClub boats available: Six X3s\, Six 14’ Pacers\, two 16’ Corsairs and two Safety craft. Life Jackets provided. DESCRIPTION:The Richmond River Rowing and Sailing Club runs a She Skippers Regatta in March. \n\n\n\nA female must helm boats.One male sailor (crew only) is permitted on multi-crewed boats.The event will take place all day on Saturday and Sunday morning.Classes consist of: \n\n\n\n\nMono dinghies with an ASY between 102 and 131\n\n\n\nMono skiffs and dinghies with an ASY less than 102\n\n\n\nTrailerable Yachts less than 7.33 meters in length\n\n\n\nOff-the-beach multihulls with an ASY between 67 and 100.\n\n\n\n\nFirst briefing at 9am Saturday. First race not before 10am Saturday.Entry fee: Single handers $35.
